In 1977 Blake and [his new bride] Paula Foust left their home in Tennessee for California where Blake attended Dental school at Loma Linda University. Following graduation in 1981 they returned to Memphis where Dr. Foust practiced for five years with his father.
It was back to Loma Linda from 1986 to 1988 for intensive graduate studies in implant dentistry. As a resident Dr. Foust was privileged to study under Dr. Robert James, world renown as a pioneer and leader in implant dentistry, and was the sixth resident to graduate from Dr. James’ implant program.
Blake and Paula had planned to stay in California, but with the birth of their first daughter they decided to move close to Paula’s parents in Texas. During this time Dr. Foust had been studying Basic Life Principles from Bill Gothard. Bill convinced him not to go into debt to start a practice and to live a simple lifestyle. To learn more about Bill Gothard and his programs go to www.Billgothard.com or www.iblp.org. As a result Dr. Foust started with a very small office at Huguley Hospital with 265 sq. ft. and used equipment.
“God blessed that humble beginning and now we have a nice new modern office.”
Dr. Foust is active with his church and family. One of his favorite activities is to take his children wakeboarding. “My greatest success in life has been to have three terrific children and that my wife has put up with me for 27 years.”
Dr Patel was born and raised in North Bergen, New Jersey (~10 miles from N.Y.C.). After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from Seton Hall University, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts to complete her D.M.D. at Tuffs University School of Dental Medicine. To further solidify her education in dentistry, she completed a General Practice Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, N.Y. She is experienced in dental emergencies, laser dentistry, pediatrics, root canal treatments, fixed and removable prosthodontics, surgical extractions, and the restorations of implants. She is also Invisalign and Nitrous Oxide certified.
After living around the hustle and bustle of big cities for many years, she decided to take the leap and move to Texas to practice dentistry and experience a new part of the country, with no regrets. When she’s not working, she likes to eat and travel as much as she can. She loves to travel to new places, to enjoy and learn about the culture and people. She also loves to visit places like her hometown in New Jersey with her amazing family. She considers herself a foodie – she loves to be in the kitchen cooking and baking, trying new recipes during her free time. Although not teeth friendly, cupcakes are her favorite food to make (and eat, of course). She’s truly excited to be part of this dental practice and look forward to building long-term relationships with not only the team, but also the patients at Lifeway Dental.
